We're getting very close to announcing our line-up of presenters now. We'll have some names that you'll be familiar with from jazz radio programmes on other stations; some names that you'll know better from their "day jobs" as well-respected jazz musicians; and some presenters who are well-known, but not necessarily for their love of jazz. Our first presenter-led programmes will begin at 9am on Friday 6th April, when we begin counting down theJazz 500. That's the chart voted for by our listeners. Right now, we're busy counting up all of the votes cast over the past three months. The countdown will last right through the Easter weekend, with the Number One being revealed just before 9pm on Easter Monday. Our normal programming line-up will then kick of at 6am on Tuesday 10th April. I'll let you know the full line-up of presenters right here on my blog over the next few days. And you'll also be able to hear more details on air, so make sure you keep listening. I'm really keen to share the news about our presenters with you. I've certainly taken on board the many suggestions that you've sent me over the past few weeks and I hope you'll be as excited as I am about the presenters who'll be joining us. Thank you also to you if you've sent in comments about the music we play. If you've been with us from day one, you'll hopefully really be noticing an increase in the number of different artists that are are being featured on theJazz - as well as a big jump in the number of tracks that we're playing. We still want to hear your ideas though, so please do get in touch through the Contact Us page here on thejazz.com |
